If you use Microsoft Outlook Calendar as a task scheduler, Screen Calendar’s option of synchronization with Outlook is very useful for you. This tutorial shows how to use import and export options for data exchange between Screen Calendar and Microsoft Outlook.
After installing Screen Calendar 7.4 on your PC, there will appear an icon in your system tray. Left-click this icon to open Setup window of Screen Calendar. There is a tree in a left part of the window. Click Dates node to open a subtree. The first child node in this subtree is Import/Export. Click it to adjust settings of data exchange.
Open Dates | Import/Export to synchronize records with Outlook or import records from a previous version of Screen Calendar
There is Import button in the top of the window. It enables you to import your records from a previous version of Screen Calendar. Your previous version (older then version 6.0) records are stored in the file C(or D disk):\Documents and Settings\(user name)\Application Data\Screen Calendar\dates.dat. Click Import button to browse this file. Select the file, click Open, and your records from a previous version of the program will be imported to your Scheduler.

There are three buttons in the bottom of the window which control data exchange between Screen Calendar and Microsoft Outlook. Synchronize button is used for synchronization of records in Screen Calendar and Microsoft Outlook. After clicking this button, you will see message box “Synchronization is finished”. That means records in Screen Calendar and in Microsoft Outlook have become equal.

In the screenshots below you can see records for one day in Screen Calendar Scheduler and in Microsoft Outlook Calendar before and after synchronization.

You can see that synchronization combines functions of import and export. If you need only to import records from Microsoft Outlook to Screen Calendar or export data from Screen Calendar to Microsoft Outlook, use the appropriate buttons – Import Data from Outlook or Export DataBase to Outlook respectively. Having clicked these buttons, you will see message box with a number of imported or exported records.
