How to Choose a Template in Fun SoundPlayer Maker

Fun SoundPlayer Maker offers more than 35 ready to use templates for creating flash audio players. Each template has its own features, and to make a flash player exactly as you need, you should choose template correctly.

1. All the templates can be divided into two main categories depending on sound source they use:

  • flash mp3 players with an embedded sound can play only one mp3 file. This mp3 file is embedded into an swf player and can’t be replaced after publishing without rebuilding the whole swf file. They are templates with ‘Only embedded’ sound location.
  • flash audio players that can play external mp3 file(s), both local and from the Web. It consists of two parts – an swf player itself which contains design settings, and an external audio file or playlist.xml file which contains the list of files or URLs to be streamed. Audio file can be replaced and playlist file can be edited even after publishing. These players have ‘Only external’ or ‘External or audio stream’ sound location.

So, if you want

to embed audio file into swf player – use templates with ‘Only embedded’ sound

to stream external files – use templates with ‘Only external’ or ‘External or audio stream’ sound

2. The next criterion to choose is multi-track support. Everything is simple here. If you want

to stream one file – choose any template, either supporting multi-tracks or not

to stream more than one file } choose template with multi-track support
to create player with a playlist

Players with embedded sound don’t support multi-track. Players with external sound usually support multi-track, with a few exceptions.

3. If you stream a big audio file or a lot of files, you may want to prevent jerkiness and holds. To do that, you can use player templates with preloaders. Preloader has two purposes – it not only allows files to upload fully before playing, it also takes website visitors attention and lets them know that loading is in progress, while an empty place can make them think that nothing happens and click away. So, if

you use big audio files and your player file is heavy – use player template with preloader

your audio files are small and you think your player will load fast enough – use any template

4. The next to choose from are player features. Decide what features you need and then choose the template which meets your needs. As templates differ very much, each of them has its own functions. The full list of features available:
